Nestled between Halloween and Christmas, Bonfire Night often gets overlooked, even forgotten, until the sound of booming fireworks disturbs your Monday night in front of the telly. However, we believe it's a holiday worth celebrating; here are ten reasons why we love this explosive occasion...
Seven Reasons We Love Bonfire Night
Whether you're 5 or 95, everyone loves a sparkler. From writing your name in the air to waving them round like magic wands, the fun never gets old.
The only time of year it's acceptable to munch on a sugary, sticky, toffee coated piece of fruit without feeling guilty. The perfect treat to nibble on whilst the festivities commence (here's our favourite caramel apple recipe!).
The excuse to drink any warm alcoholic beverage in public before 7pm is always a reason to celebrate, and if you don't like mulled wine we suggest trying the equally delicious mulled cider. After all, how else can we warm ourselves up whilst watching the show?
There’s just something about the smell of a bonfire that makes us feel warm and nostalgic, transporting us back to our very first firework display.
We mentioned caramel apples but a shoutout needs to go to the rest of the food on offer. Warming soup, wholesome pies and don't forget toasted marshmallows in front of the fire.
No matter how hard we try, it’s impossible to take an impressive picture of an exploding firework. We all know this but year upon year our camera rolls are filled with blurry photos of a few underwhelming sparks in the sky.
