Winter Interior Tips From Design Vintage
Autumn is always the time of year that we want to inject some Hygge in our homes and this year it’s having a tribal moment with some stunning vintage artefacts and tactile soft furnishings. Our love of deep-pile berber rugs spills over into cushions as well for the softest dressed sofas.
This season we're seeing the introduction of more camel tones into interiors. Opt for linen furnishings in soft honey hues, though tread carefully and mix with off-whites, pale greys and botanicals to avoid over-browning! Sandy colours work so well with the dusky pinks we have all grown attached to.
Dark greens are having a moment, from sumptuous velvets right through to our kitchen cabinets. For an easier way to introduce this shade we recommend an abundance of botanicals. Faux plants have become more realistic than ever and can provide a bold and brilliant contrast to any room, regardless of season.
Although we embrace all that is light and white, we can’t resist crossing to the dark side this autumn. Kitchens in particular; Farrow & Ball’s ‘Off Black’ providing the perfect shade to contrast with pristine white. For dramatic effect paint a wall half black half white or try the trend in a more subtle way by giving sash window frames the dark treatment.
are still going strong, but there are more and more muted shades appearing. Velvet
furniture continues to gain popularity but try it with softer tones instead of the bold indigo and navy favoured over the last year.
