As hush was founded by a woman, Mandy Watkins, and is pretty much run by 30 brilliant women (2 boys snuck in), we get to work with, interview, partner and form brilliant personal and business relationships with some of the most inspirational women in the UK.
And as today is International Women’s Day we are feeling a little bit proud here at hush HQ, we're even more proud to announce that through sales of our ‘lucky’ sweatshirt last season you raised an incredible £32,325 for Breast Cancer Now!
So, a huge thanks to all our lovely customers and other friends of hush for their support, which will help the charity towards its stated ambition that by 2050 no-one will die of breast cancer.
Specifically, the money raised will pay for two years’ worth of materials and consumables for one of their ground-breaking research projects, such as that by Dr Clare Davies at the University of Birmingham who is studying how a molecule called PRMT5 helps breast cancer stem cells survive.
We’re obviously thrilled to be able to help in this way and will continue in future seasons to support Breast Cancer Now! and other organisations who work to improve the lives of women and children here in the UK and worldwide.
Next month we will be taking an active part in the 20th anniversary of Fashion Targets Breast Cancer campaign. And we have other collaborations planned that are both celebrations of our shared femininity and opportunities to raise money and awareness of issues close to our hearts.
To continue celebrating this wonderful day devoted to the achievements of women, we’re running a competition for the rest of the week!
We want you to nominate a kick-ass woman, who inspires you, and who you think deserves an extra special hush treat.
To enter, simply comment on our Facebook post with who they are and what makes them absolutely amazing. We’ll feature a selection right here on the blog and will pick one lucky lady to recieve a package to celebrate her mind, body and soul...
A collection of Vintage Books to nurture the mind, a brand new Nutribullet to nurture the body, and a hush outfit worth £150 to nurture the soul!
