  • On Location: What to See, Eat & Do If You Only Have 72 Hours In Bordeaux

Famed for its wine, its food and its architecture (and only a 90-minute flight from the UK), Bordeaux has everything you need for a great weekend away. We were of course hard at work shooting our autumn collection, but we still took some time out to explore this beautiful port city for you…

    Stay

Get a room at La Course…

We couldn’t afford to stay here with the whole crew, but we would have loved to! A former family home turned boutique guesthouse, the interiors are amazing. There’s a basement wine cellar and rooftop pool, plus incredible antique décor.

    Eat

    Head to La Petite Boulangerie…

They have seriously delicious croissants. When we arrived and told the bakers we were shooting in the city, they asked if we wanted a photograph with them. Before you knew it the whole shop had come out to watch. It made for a brilliant shot!

    And don’t miss the cherries…

They’re amazing! The season’s short, but for a few weeks you’ll find them everywhere in Bordeaux.

    See

Shop in Le Passage Saint Michael...

A secondhand, vintage antique shop. You could just go nuts in here! It’s the perfect place to find things for your home. We were very glad we just had hand luggage, otherwise we dread to think what we’d have left with…

    Check out the Water Mirror…

Just across from Place de la Bourse, it’s bizarre, but mesmerising. You can see the reflection of the surrounding buildings on the floor and every 15 minutes it changes from a water mirror to a mist to a full-blown fountain spurting up.

    Do

    Rent an electric scooter…

They’ve got a bit of a bad reputation in the UK, but they’re everywhere in lots of European cities. They’re great fun for adults and kids – and a great way to see the city.

    Try your hand at Parkour…

Or, like us, you can be a spectator from the sidelines! Who knew it was so huge in France? We saw guys doing handstands all across the city.
